In the first version of the game there was no push, and pull mechanics. Therefore, boxes move whenever the character collides with the boxes and try to jump and step on the box. Eventually, the box did not move as the player intended and that was not what Connor and I wanted. We wanted players to feel the difficulty entirely from the puzzle. So, after the first playtest, the first thing to change was to make the objects move only when the character grabs the object.
Luckily, playtesters found the bug which character can grab the corner of the box while it is not grounded. This bug was something I had never encountered while making it. Because of the playtest, we were able to fix it quickly.
After playtesting, our goal was to tell the player where to go because players don't always move as intended by the developer. Especially in the case of such a puzzle platform, players will go through a number of trials to solve the puzzle. So, to reduce confusion, we found that the destination should always be in a similar location i.e. always on the right. We thought that if we only put our destination in one direction, players at least would not waste time trying to find the destination and they would be able to focus on the puzzle.
